We are now in the first week of the winter games events and 132 medals in total handed so far with 162 still to go; still a lots and a lots of medals will be handed to winners and at this moment, we have to say that the games have been pretty good.
At this half way point, over 40 gold medals have been given away and the organisers have been given a pack in the back by the International Committee saying that the games so far have been better then expected.
The organisers already claiming that Sochi 2014 successfully reaches half way point, as if they were not expecting it to make that far: - But it has been a fantastic seven days. In term of highlight, it got to be the sunshine at the winter games which was not helpful for the organisers.
The temperature is about 20 degrees Celsius, and up in the mountains, is between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius, snow is expecting on Monday though. The Russian winning their first gold medal in figure skating, Lilia Livinskaya incredible skating aged only 15 won’t be forgotten, and Hanyu who survives blunder in men skating to wing gold.
I have to mention women sky jumping included in the game for the first time where the men have been competing in sky jumping since 1924. The first ever sky jumping gold winner taken by German’s Carina Vogt. Also to mention the UK winning first gold medal with Lizzy Yarnold at Sochi 2014 Winter Games.
