The team GB (Great Bretain) ladies won a 3rd medal yesterday at this winter games with men still guarantee a silver today; meaning the GB team will match their best medal target hold at this winter Olympics.
It was quite some performance as the skipper and her team overcome the disappointment after missing out on gold on the previous day. On the top of the lady’s curling was the Canadian ladies team who beat Sweden by 6 point to 3, with Canada wining its first winter curling gold medal since 1998.
Another tantalising duel of this game held yesterday were ladies’ figure skating and the ladies ice skating match. In ladies figure skating it was Russian winner, but not really the Russian everyone expected to step on the podium. In the shadow of Julia lipnitskaya, Adelina Sotnikova who was at home during the free style skating was quite brilliant to grab the gold medal. She was just brilliant, absolutely superb and the first time Russian lady ever won gold in ice skating.
She won it on technical, she was aggressive and also the Russian supporters were brilliant. The podium saw on the second place Kim Yuna of S.Korea and the bronze went to the Italian Carolina Kostner The biggest event on ice which still echoing today is the gold medal hot between ultimate rival, US and Canada Ice Hockey teams both and nothing hate each other more then more then these two, and actually scrums and brawls taking place during the previous matches.
Well this match is really physical and Canada with a massive comeback from 2 goal down in the final 4 minutes sending the match to overtime with Canada wining 3 – 2. The Canadian are in their fourth straight wining Olympic gold medal in Ice Hockey. The USA lady failed to win it since the inaugural of the women Ice Hockey held in Nagano.
